I have designed another calendar becoz my dear requested for a new one. Hmm…nothing fanciful but it took me a whole week to decide on its design and wordings. Anyway, i like the final outcome and dear liked his present =)

Birthday Calendar
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I was surfing net for some work related stuff when I chanced upon a website that had instructions on how to fold a business card (http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/Origami%20Business%20Card%20Holder.pdf). Then…AHHAHHH…I decided that it would be an amazing V-day present for someone special =) I folded a blueA4 paper and pasted another darker blue colour paper on it to create some variation. Then to personalise it…I pasted some cute stickers that I bought from Korea as well as alphabet stickers from a local scrapbook store. Finally…I wrapped it up and gave it away at the strike of midnight on V-day 2010!
Without You…
Sometimes a card need not be complicated or elaborate…it can be simple as long as it is right from the heart. I drew this v-day card after a sudden spark. I was feeling at that moment that life without someone will be very dark, gloomy, stormy, cold and dead…and with that someone, life will be sunny, cheerful, hopeful and beautiful. I simply wanted to convey this feeling in the card as well as how much the person meant to me and how life will never be the same again without him =)

Cross-stitch Photo Album
I used to love doing cross stitch…and once I made this for someone special. In the past, I will send the cross stitch for framing…but nowadays, not many people like to hang stuff on their wall anymore. So I decided to use it as the cover of a big square photo album. Furthermore, the wordings were also very suitable for the album, hee!
Cross stitch can be personalised by adding wordings, modifying colours of the picture etc. However, cross stitch is very time consuming…and may take weeks to complete. Nevertheless, I like the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction when it is finally completed =)
p/s…If you have left over cross stitch thread, you can also use it to make a bookmark in the form of a friendship band.
Tunnel of Love…
This year, V-day is on the first day of Chinese New Year. Hmm…what a coincidence! Despite not having the habit of celebrating V-day…I still and always will enjoy receiving flowers =) It’s quite unlikely that any girl would dislike receiving flowers anyway…hee!
However, the prices of flowers on such occasions are always so expensive. And the worst part is that even if you order/reserve in advance, it does not guarantee that the flowers you get are fresh…haiz.
Anyway…just an alternative for all those out there…if you have the time, try making some paper flowers…it’s really not that difficult…and you can wrap the flowers up into a nice bouquet. You can also get some ideas from my subsequent post.
I will be posting some handmade miniature paper flowers for sale. I’ve made only 7 bouquets as I have sweaty palms and folding miniature flowers tend to be quite a challenge for me =)
Christmas Sock
This handmade Christmas sock is made of felt. Materials needed are mainly fabric glue, different colour felt, needle and thread (yarn/wool). As my sewing skills aren’t really good, this present took up more time and effort in making. Upon completion, I put X’mas candies in and give it to my friends =)
Personalised Pocket Calendar
I designed this pocket calendar for my friends as last year X’mas present. I came across this really cute alphabet song that made me smile everytime I hear it. Found it really sweet and thought that it would make my friends smile too…so I used the song as the main design of the pocket calendar.
This pocket calendar is quite simple to make and not time-consuming…plus you can give it to many friends. I actually mailed it out along with an X’mas card to friends whom I do not have the chance to meet during the X’mas season. Oh…and I also laminated the pocket calendars after printing them.
Kitchen Decorative
I made this together with another friend for our common friend. Hmm…we had this idea as our friend had baked some yummy goodies for us.
This was quite easily created as we managed to get most of the materials (wooden base, letters, spoon and acrylic paints) from the same shop. Then we painted both the base and the letters and pasted the letters on. The chef hat was sewn by my friend which we subsequently glued onto the “C”.
And the kitchen decorative is completed =)
Cute clips
These small pegs are affordable gift ideas that can be customised for friends, family or colleagues.
Firstly, I mixed the colours that I want by using poster colours/magic pens together with the angel clay. Then I molded the angel clay into simple shapes and joined them together. After that, I used white glue and pasted the angel clay figures onto the peg and it’s done. Angel clay can also be used for many other things such as photo frames, figurine, etc.
For me, pegs are sometimes better than paper clips as they can clip more paper together and doesn’t go out of shape =)
Unique 2010 Planner
This is my latest creation, a customised 2010 planner. I bought this planner from a bookstore and redecorated the cover with a recycled paper which has flower pressed in it. However, i felt that it was too plain, so i glued on the leaf border that i bought from a scrapbook store. It looked so much better…hee! Then I pasted a letterpad which i bought from bangkok on the 1st page. As my handwriting isn’t brillant, I decided to paste sticker alphabet instead of writing.
As for pages of the planner, I decided to use cute stickers to mark on the special dates, especially dates that are not normally found on the usual type of calendar…thus, making the planner special =)
This is a very simple and unique gift that can be made easily as there are no complicated steps involved. Moreover, all materials can be found quite easily.
I’m back =)
